We are pleased to introduce this unique Yemen Coffee from Al Qafr in Ibb Province. It is collected from a large number of small holder farmers farming in the Western region of Yemen. The coffee is processed Natural, dried with its cherry on roof tops, following the traditional inherited method of Yemen.
This coffee was collected, processed and marketed by the Ali Hibah Muslot family represented by his daughter Fatoum. They have been supplying leading coffee houses in the United States and the Middle East markets since 1984. Their company operates near the front lines of the country’s civil war. Despite all the adversity she continued to deal with coffee to maintain the livelihood of a large number of families working with them.
This coffee variety is Hawari, unique to this region with many small beans grown in a harsh dry and wet environment in a mountain region of 1900 - 2500 meters. Picking period is November 2019 to February 2020.
We split this lot of Hawari coffee with established roasters in the Pacific West region of the United States, today’s most competitive coffee market attracting high quality crops.
After a number of roasting test trials, we settled on a slow roast to generate loads of sweetness, dried fruits, chocolaty and brown sugar notes. It is available to our customers on the website www.mattinacoffee.com, our roastery in Dubai Investment Park 1 and at our stand in Etihad Mall.
This coffee is best suited for a V60 or a French Press brew. A delight for a late morning or afternoon coffee.
